Wiltshire CCC's pre-season hampered
Wiltshire's preparations for the 2018 season have been hampered by the weather as both the friendly matches due last weekend on the Saturday v Gloucestershire 2nd XI at Warminster and on the Sunday v Dorset at South Wilts were cancelled due to waterlogged grounds and now the match due on Sunday 15th April at Marlborough C C against Berkshire for the Marlborough Cup has also had to be cancelled.
This just leaves the friendly on Saturday April 21st away to Frocester C C as the only practice match before the competitive season starts with the match in the 1st round of the Unicorns KO Trophy against Wales at Swindon C C starting at 11.00am on Sunday April 29th.
This year the Unicorns KO Trophy is a 50 over a side knock out competition and there is a T20 competition played in 4 groups of 5 counties with the group winners contesting the finals day at Wormsley on August 28th. Wiltshire play Devon and Cornwall at home and Dorset and Wales away in their group.
The Championship season starts on the last weekend in June.
