Wiltshire CCC eliminated from the Unicorns 50 over Knock Out Trophy

Wiltshire were eliminated from the Unicorns 50 over Knock Out Trophy when they lost to Devon at Sidmouth on Sunday by 56 runs.  Devon won the toss and made first use of a good batting surface scoring 281 for 6 wickets in their 50 overs.  The innings was dominated by the former Somerset player, Alex Barrow, who scored 107.  For Wiltshire Luke Evans took 2 for 56 and Ed Young 2 for 42.

In reply Wiltshire were all out for 225 in the 45th over.  After a good opening stand of 63 in 9 overs between Ed Young (36) and Tom Morton (34) Wiltshire lost wickets steadily and were unable to have a large stand to threaten the Devon total.  Uzi Qureshi scored 35 and Ashur Morrison 36.  For Devon George Benton took 4 for 50 and Gary Chappell 4 for 43.

Wiltshire's next match is in the Unicorns T20  Cup when they play Devon at South Wilts Cricket Club, Salisbury on Sunday May 27th.  There are two 20 over matches on the day the first one starting at 11.00am and the second at 2.30pm.
