Wiltshire CCC record first win in the Unicorns T20 Competition

Wiltshire gained their first points and first win in the Unicorns T20 Competition when they won the morning match against Wales at Newport CC by 1 run and lost the afternoon match by 5 runs.

In the morning Wiltshire won the toss and chose to bat scoring 134 for 5 wickets in their 20 overs.  Tom Morton scored 53, Jake Goodwin 24 and Neil Clark 21.  In reply Wales scored 133 for 9 wickets.  They needed 5 runs to win off the final over bowled by Jake Goodwin and scored 3 with Will Wade hitting the stumps from some 60 yards to achieve a run out off the final ball to prevent 2 runs being scored which would have resulted in a tie.

Wales batted first in the afternoon and scored 138 for 8 wickets with Joe King taking 3 for 14.  In reply Wiltshire finished on 133 for 8 wickets needing 6 off the final ball to win and so lost by 5 runs.  Neil Clark scored 34 and Ashur Morrison 27.

Wiltshire's next matches are the final group matches in the Unicorns T20  Cup when they play Cornwall at Beversbrook Sports Centre,  Calne on Sunday June 17th.  The first match starting at  11.00am and the second at 2.30pm.
