Online Coaching Workshops - In Partnership With Gloucestershire Cricket Club & Cricket Board.

Coaching Workshops led by Richard Dawson and GCCC Players

Towards the end of 2018, Wiltshire Cricket’s Talent Pathway announced a partnership with Gloucestershire Cricket, which allows the two counties to work collaboratively to develop young cricketers and other areas of cricket development in the county. One of these areas is coach development and CPD opportunities.

In recent years, Wiltshire Cricket and Gloucestershire Cricket have hosted a number of face-to-face CPD events, delivered by subject matter experts for batting, bowling and fielding at Dauntsey's School. With in-person events currently paused due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are delighted and grateful to Gloucestershire County Cricket Club and Cricket Board for their continued support and collaberation, thus providing our Wiltshire Coaches with the opportunity for pre-season development.

With this in mind, over the coming weeks and months, Gloucestershire County Cricket Club will be hosting a series of free online coaching workshops to help prepare our coaching workforce for the new season! Wiltshire Cricket would therefore like to extend an invitation to our coaches in Wiltshire Clubs and Age-Group Programmes.

Run in partnership with the Gloucestershire Cricket Board (GCB), the workshops will be led by Richard Dawson (GCCC Head Coach) and members of his squad including captain Chris Dent and bowlers David Payne and Tom Smith. Each will offer their insight into a range of topics from building successful teams to the best ways to develop modern batsmen, bowlers and fielders. The programme is being coordinated by Gloucestershire coach developer and county age group coach Luke Sellers who will co-host the live events which get underway on January 28. 

The “Thursday Night Coaches Club’ events are set to take place on January 28, Feb 11, Feb 25, March 11, March 25, April 1.
In addition to the six main workshops, Luke will also be holding reflection sessions for smaller groups of coaches in the week’s following each event.

Workshop 1 – Coaching Teams with Gloucestershire Head Coach Richard Dawson 

January 28 – 7.30-9pm 

Workshop 2– Building Skilful Bowlers with David Payne and Tom Smith 

February 11 – 7.30-9.30pm 

Workshop 3 - Turning Practice into Performance with Gloucestershire Captain Chris Dent 

February 25 – 7.30-9pm
