A second win on the second matchday of the Wiltshire Women's 1st XI season
Wiltshire Women's 1st XI's second matchday of their ECB T20 campaign mirrored their first weekend, as they recorded one win and one defeat in back to back matches against Dorset.
These fixtures formed part of match day 2 of the ECB Women's County T20 competition.
Match One
Wiltshire batted first and were led superbly by captain Isla Thomson who hit a superb 62 not out from 53 balls to lead Wiltshire to a competitive total of 108-3 from their 20 overs. Thomson was ably supported by Lily Harffey who made 23.
In reply, a number of Dorset batters made starts but regular wickets for Wiltshire meant that their opponents could never get too close to victory. In the end, Dorset finished on 98-7 as both Anna-Mae Shearn and Katie Sell took two wickets apiece for Wiltshire.
Wiltshire beat Dorset by 10 runs
Match Two
Wiltshire batted first in the second game of the day, and their total was led by contributions of 27 from Isla Thomson and 16 from Emily Bogg. Unfortunately though, the total posted fell short of the total posted in match one as Wiltshire finished on 86 all out.
Ultimately this was never going to be enough as Dorset chased down their target inside 16 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. For Wiltshire, there was a good return of 2-10 from Holly Evans, with both wickets coming following catches from Katy Cobb
