Joe King and Josh Croom scoop Wiltshire CCC Player of the Year Awards
Whilst generously showing their support for the Wiltshire Cricket Talent Pathway at our annual Golf Day on Friday 23rd September, we took the opportunity to recognise Joe king and Josh Croom for their performances during the 2022 season.
The Wiltshire Cricket Golf Day was taking place at Cumberwell Park in Bradford on Avon to raise funds for the new Wiltshire Cricket Talent Pathway Support Fund and it was great to see a team entry in to the competition from the Wiltshire 1st XI, consisting of Joe and Josh themsevles as well as Jake Lintott and coach, Tim Cowley.
Prior to the start of play provided a great opportunity to recognise the two winners of the annual Wiltshire CCC Player of the Year awards. Wiltshire Cricket Head of Talent Pathway, Tom Morton, was on hand to announce the awards and providing words in advance Wiltshire 1st XI Chair, John Collins said the following:
Josh Croom - Wiltshire CCC 1st XI Young Player of the Year:
"Congratulations on receiving this award as young player of the year. Thankyou for your seasons performances you have a wonderful future to look forward to, have a great tour down under this winter".
Josh's season for Wiltshire saw him contribute 16 wickets across all competitions as he became a regular feature in the side. In addition to this, Josh showed his considerable pedigree with the bat, never more apparent than in his score of 95 against Cornwall in the NCCA Championship
Joe King - Wiltshire CCC 1st XI Player of the Year:
"Congratulations on receiving this award this given to you not only for your performance with the ball but for your continued loyalty - dedecation and 100 per cent that you have shown to our captain".
Joe's award is fully deserved recognition not just for his 2022 performances but also for a National Counties Career that has now spanned ten seasons. In 2022, Joe contributed 25 wickets across all formats and remained a fully committed player to Wiltshire CCC
