Wiltshire County Women start season with double header win against Dorset

Following a frustrating wash out on the first weekend of the season, Wiltshire got their ECB T20 campaign underway with two fantastic wins over Dorset at Westbury on Sunday 23rd April.

Match 1

With thanks to Westbury and District CC following a period of wet weather, the facilities were ready for the matches to start on time and game one saw Wiltshire bat first. Following a wicket in the first over for Dorset, what then followed was a superb 142 run partnership for the second wicket which took Wiltshire to a very competitive total of 147-2 from their 20 overs. The contributors were Maxine Blythin (72 not out) and captain, Isla Thomson (62) who had also made her debut for Western Storm the day before.

Ultimately, this total proved far too much for Dorset who batted through their overs for 83-6 with Jenny Heppell and Holly Morgan taking two wickets apiece to help hand Wiltshire a 64 run victory.
