Wiltshire CCC bow out of NCCA Trophy with semi-final defeat to Berkshire

Berkshire, the winners of the Trophy ever since it became a National Counties competition won the toss and asked Wiltshire to bat, a good decision on a pitch that had been under the covers for most of the previous week.  Their decision was soon vindicated as the hosts lost early wickets and fell to 41 for 3 after 12 overs with only WADWORTH Man of the Match Jake Goodwin (72) standing firm.  Berkshire continued to take wickets at regular intervals with only Josh Kelly (22) and Chris Aubrey (34) making any real contribution as Wiltshire were all out for 207 on the last ball of the 50 overs. Tom Nugent 3-39, Rhodri Lewis 3-34 and Euan Woods 2-37 doing the damage.

Berkshire are renowned for their aggressive approach to batting and quickly  set about their task and after 15 overs were 87-2 and so were well in control. Euan Woods scored 47 and then Jack Davies (62 not out) and Dan Lincoln (46 not out) put on 96 for the 5th wicket to finish the job with 13 overs to spare. Jake Lintott took 2-29.
