Eden Renewables announced as headline sponsor of Wiltshire Cricket Women’s 1st XI
Wiltshire Cricket is delighted to announce a new three year partnership with renewables and energy storage developer, Eden Renewables. As part of this partnership, Eden Renewables will become the headline sponsor of our County Women’s 1st XI, providing financial support that will allow us to significantly enhance the profile of our Women’s 1st XI and the package of support that our players will receive.
Based here in Wiltshire, Eden Renewables is an international renewable energy and energy storage project developer working across the UK, USA, South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.
Eden’s ethos is to develop and build projects which are positive for the climate, positive for nature and positive for local people. Its pipeline includes three solar farms in Wiltshire near Chippenham: Forest Gate, Leigh Delamere and Red Barn which are expected to be built in 2025 and 2026.
The announcement of this new partnership comes at a hugely exciting time for Women’s County Cricket in England and Wales. In 2024, details emerged from the ECB regarding the new women’s domestic structure that would come in to operation from the 2025 season. The new structure will see increased investment going into the Women’s county game and as part of this there will be a significant focus on developing the girls’ pathways that underpin and feed professional women’s county cricket. On that note, Wiltshire Cricket was delighted to launch its Talent Pathway partnership with Glamorgan CCC in November 2024 and since this time we have seen the commencement of our first ever Emerging Player Programme in Wiltshire.
With regards the County Women, there was further good news for Wiltshire in December 2024 with confirmation that for 2025 Wiltshire had been placed in to Division 1 of the new Women’s Tier 3 structure; a testament to the strong performances and reputation that our County Women’s structure has built up in recent years.
Speaking of the new partnership, Wiltshire Cricket Managing Director, Peter Sykes, said the following; “Wiltshire Cricket is very proud to be entering in to a partnership with Eden Renewables at what is a hugely significant moment for the Women’s and Girls’ game, both nationally and in Wiltshire. In recent months, with the launch of the new Women’s Domestic structure, we have been learning about the funding requirements for delivering our County Women’s programme. Whilst we are very appreciative of the ECB funding in terms of what it will enable us to do from a training and matchplay perspective, we have been really keen to seek additional investment to allow us to go above and beyond with regards our provision for the players. Through Eden Renewables’ generous support we are going to be able to invest in an enhanced clothing and equipment package for the players, professional Strength and Conditioning and physio provision, and a fully resourced live Steaming & Ball-by-Ball Analysis package. All of these things will significantly enhance the match day experience for our players, coaches and supporters”.
Ross Wolhuter, Head of Development, Eden Renewables, said “Supporting the local communities near our projects is something we are really proud of at Eden - so we couldn’t be more pleased to have this partnership with Wiltshire Cricket’s Women's First XI here on our home turf.
“It comes at an exciting moment for the women’s game and we wish the team a very successful season ahead!”
From all at Wiltshire Cricket, we extend a big thank you to all at Eden Renewables for this exciting sponsorship partnership. We look forward to delivering an exciting future for Women’s and Girls’ Talent Pathway cricketers in the years to come.
